Backstory

Rei was born in Yanxia, raised in a shrine to Tamamo Gozen. She cared for and protected the shrine with her family, their Fox attributes leading to rumors that her and her family were descendants of the legendary protectors.She lived a life of purpose for many years, The shrine itself not receiving many visitors from those outside of Doma, the Garlean occupation helping to keep them isolated. This all changed two years ago when the Garleans were driven out and people of all nations swarmed to the once isolated lands. Soon the shrine was flocked with those wanting to explore the culture and history of these lands.One person in particular caught her eye, a man covered in the most beautiful art, his skin decorated like a tapestry. Noticing Rei's interest, the man offered to show her where he had received such incredible art. She knew her father would disapprove, but she was compelled to meet this man.Rei would sneak out that night, meeting the man in Kugane. She would return with a small Cherry blossom tattoo on her forearm. She wore long sleeves most of her life, and didn't think it would be hard to hide. Her father was waiting for her in her room when she arrived, furious at her. It wasn't long until he discovered her transgression, angrily denouncing her for 'defiling her body'.She was cast out that night, warned to never return.Two years later she is working for the very tattoo parlor that had given her the damning mark. Making her way through life Rei had many more tattoo's, and a few other body modifications. The Kitsune had spent this time discovering who she was outside of the shrine, and who she wanted to be. Most recently she had been exploring her sexuality, strong feelings blossoming in her for another woman.Who knows where life may take Rei? One thing was for certain; wherever she would end up, it would be on her own terms.
